Common questions
Start here.
Do I need a heart-rate monitor?
No. Guided breathing, patterns, reminders, and basic session history work without one.
A compatible Bluetooth Low Energy heart-rate monitor adds live heart rhythm, beat-to-beat feedback, in-step readings, and the resonance rate test.
My monitor does not appear or connect.
- Make sure the monitor is awake, being worn correctly, and close to your iPhone.
- Allow Bluetooth access for Attune in iOS Settings.
- Disconnect the monitor from other phones, watches, fitness equipment, or apps. Many monitors accept only one active connection.
- In Attune, unpair the saved monitor, then scan and pair again.
- If it still does not appear, restart the monitor and your iPhone before trying once more.
Attune connects to monitors that expose the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate service. A basic optical or electrical sensor that reports only through its manufacturer’s app may not be compatible.
Why is there no in-step reading?
In-step feedback requires a connected monitor that provides usable beat-to-beat interval data. Some devices transmit heart rate but omit those intervals, and motion or poor sensor contact can make them temporarily unavailable.
Keep the sensor secure, stay reasonably still, and allow the signal time to settle. You can always continue the breathing session without the score.
How does Apple Health work with Attune?
Health integration is optional and write-only. If you approve it, Attune can save a completed Mind & Body workout, the heart-rate samples captured during that session, and mindful-session time. Attune does not read your Apple Health history.
Review access in the Health app or iOS Settings. Data already written to Health must be deleted from the Health app.
How do I restore or manage a purchase?
Open Attune’s settings or subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
Apple manages billing and cancellation. You can view your App Store subscriptions or use Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
A practice reminder did not arrive.
Confirm that reminders are enabled in Attune and notifications are allowed for Attune in iOS Settings. Focus modes, notification summaries, device schedules, and system settings can delay or silence a reminder.
Turn the reminder off and on again after changing its time so iOS receives the updated schedule.
Where is my session data stored?
Attune stores session history and settings locally on your iPhone. There is no Attune account or Attune session-history server. Depending on your iOS settings, Apple may include app data in a device backup.
You can delete all recorded sessions from Attune’s settings. Removing the app deletes its local app container according to iOS behavior.
Is Attune medical care?
No. Attune is for general wellness and self-guided breathing practice. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, monitor, treat, cure, or prevent a condition.
Do not use Attune while driving or in a situation that needs your full attention. Stop if you feel dizzy, short of breath, uncomfortable, or unwell. Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional if you have a medical condition or concerns about breathing practice.
