1. Overview
This policy explains how Attune, operated by Attune / KSTech ("we"), handles information in the Attune iPhone app and on attune.app.
The short version: the app has no user accounts, advertising, or third-party analytics. We do not sell personal information. The app does not send your breathing sessions or heart-rate measurements to an Attune server because we do not operate one for the app.
2. Data stored on your device
To provide its features, Attune may store the following information locally on your iPhone:
- session dates, durations, breathing patterns, and completion status;
- calculated session feedback such as coherence or “in-step” values;
- heart-rate and beat-to-beat interval data received from a connected Bluetooth monitor during a session;
- your saved resonance rate and custom breathing patterns;
- app preferences, reminder settings, and trial-start information; and
- the display name and an app-specific identifier for a paired heart-rate monitor.
This information is used to run sessions, show history and trends, remember your choices, and reconnect to your selected monitor. It remains under the controls of your device and iOS.
3. Permissions you control
Attune asks for a permission only when a related feature needs it:
Bluetooth
Used to discover and connect to compatible Bluetooth Low Energy heart-rate monitors and receive live heart-rate and beat-to-beat interval data. The breathing pacer works without this permission.
Apple Health
If you enable Health integration, Attune asks for permission to write completed Mind & Body workouts, heart-rate samples recorded during the session, and mindful-session time. Attune does not request permission to read data from Apple Health.
Notifications
Used only for practice reminders you schedule. Reminder content and timing are handled locally by iOS.
You can review or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Some optional features will stop working if their permission is removed.
4. Apple services
Some Attune features rely on services provided by Apple:
- App Store and StoreKit: Apple processes purchases, subscriptions, receipts, and entitlement status. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
- Apple Health: information you choose to write is stored and controlled through Apple Health. Apple’s privacy and security rules apply to that data.
- Device backup: depending on your iOS and iCloud settings, Apple may include app data in a device backup. Attune does not control Apple’s backup service.
- Diagnostics: Apple may make aggregated sales or diagnostic information available to developers according to your device settings and Apple’s terms. Attune does not add a third-party crash-reporting SDK.
Apple processes this information under its own privacy policy and your Apple account settings.
5. This website
attune.app does not use advertising pixels, analytics scripts, contact forms, or cookies. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the contents of that message so we can reply.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Like most web infrastructure providers, Cloudflare may process technical request information—such as IP address, browser details, requested page, and time of access—to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its practices.
6. Retention and deletion
Session history and preferences remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete all recorded sessions from Attune’s settings. You can remove a saved monitor by unpairing it.
Removing the app deletes its local container according to iOS behavior. Information already written to Apple Health must be reviewed or deleted in the Health app. Information contained in an Apple device backup is controlled through your Apple and iCloud settings.
Support email is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer your request, maintain an appropriate support record, and meet applicable legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a support conversation, subject to those obligations.
7. Security
Attune relies on iOS protections for data stored on your device and on Apple’s controls for Health and purchase information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but limiting collection and avoiding an Attune account reduces the information exposed outside your device.
8. Children
Attune is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or Attune server. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a support email, contact us so we can address it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Attune’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will show when the current version took effect. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this website when appropriate.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email support@attune.app. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details, or unnecessary health information.
